The Faith Elementary and
Middle School is a small Christian School with a past year enrollment of under
fifty students in
preschool (age 3) - grade 6. Faith is an independent, non-denominational school. It is an approved 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization. The school was founded in 1982.
By the grace of God, the 2008 - 2009 school term will mark the school's
twenty-seventh year of service to community families
Character building and strong academic achievement are two of it's primary objectives. Teaching students a positive self-image and responsible discipline are among other important hallmarks of the school. Many of
it's students consistently score two and three grade levels above current grade assignment. Faith students are highly respected for exceptional public speaking and dramatic abilities. Faith
attempts to train students to become responsible leaders.
Faith Elementary and Middle School has operated in crowded rented facilities throughout it's existence. An absence of state and federal funding, or the regular support of a church congregation, and the lack of corporate or foundation sponsorship is reflected in the humble, but clean and beautifully decorated facilities the school
uses. The VFW, Post 9962 and an anonymous supporter outside of Delaware have
been blessings in assisting the school in having an operational home.
Faith is a highly motivated school of hard-working and ambitious families and teachers.
. The school welcomes students, workers, leaders, and volunteers from all races, religious, or national
backgrounds who believe they can be a blessing to Faith while receiving a
blessing from this grassroots Christian institution. . While the school is interested
in diversity on all levels, currently the school membership is largely African American. Faith is interested in serving those who need it's help irregardless
of racial or religious identity or affiliation. It is interested in diversity
because it believes this would more perfectly reflect the character of God, and
God's interest and purpose for His entire human family. Nevertheless, the school is proud to serve
it's current constituency and whomsoever else God impresses to come.
Some Faith parents channel their involvement in the school through the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), the Board of Directors, and as volunteers
in other ways. The Faith Elementary and Middle School family invites all who believe in prayer and children and youth to pray for the school
that it will have resources to satisfy it's vision and mission to all children. Prayers and any additional efforts anyone may feel impressed to make in support of this deserving organization are appreciated.
